One of the most popular destinations in Asia and even in the world. It’s an easy and mostly relaxing destination famous for its beaches. I’ve been a few times, sometimes just overnight on my way to somewhere else (Bangkok is a wonderful transport hub). There are parts I haven’t seen and I know I’ll go back.

Where: Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Phuket, Krabi, Koh Phi Phi, Chiang Mai, Koh Chang
Who: with a friend, with a boyfriend, with a group of friends
How: I’ve always flown in and out of Bangkok, domestic flights between BKK and Phuket and Chiang Mai, overland buses
Weather: tropical, check when the rainy season is (it can vary depending on your location) April tends to be extremely hot and humid.

Tips: Experiencing the Thai new year in April is great fun – a mass waterfight all over the country. Expect to get soaked whenever you step out of your door! there is a vast range of accommodation – check out what you want/can afford – Thailand will have it.
