I spent time in Malawi on the overland African truck trip I did.  It’s a relatively small country (compared to some of the giants in Africa) and it’s main feature is the lake.

When: July 1998

Where: lake shore

How: with Truck Africa, we arrived overland from Tanzania and left overland to Zambia.  The road were not great and it took a long time to get places.

Who: alone & with fellow travellers from the truck

Weather: warm days, hot enough for swimming

Highlights: waking up along the shores of lake Malawi and swimming in this freshwater lake first thing.
